She Follows Her Own Heart

Good Morning Rikki here today. Creativity, my cup is over flowing and I cant say its a bad thing really and its been awhile since this has happened (wish it would happen more often).

This layout was one I shuffled the papers around for ages then something just clicked then it just flowed......

''She Follows Her Heart''
Websters Nested pp and stickers, doilies,  Your Creative Wings Floral Arrows Crossed

I always do journalling but your not losing your mind in thinking when? I often either do it hidden or I add it in after I have shared it with you all. I know that you all love to read it but I share so much of my kids life online that I do keep this bit  private as I want something special just for them when they look at there albums, its important to write on your pages!!! I cant stress that enough......

How stunning is this piece? A handy idea is to bend the ends of the arrows to make them 3D.

Why dont you go grab this stunning piece? In store now!!!!

Till next time, have a creative day.

Home is Where Our Story Begins and Farewell to a Friend

Hi Everyone, Jodie here.

I have a cheerful, bright and simple layout for you today, using some of the Feathers Basic Mixed YCW3049 you will find in the shop.

Home is Where Our Story Begins

I quickly snapped this photo on a late afternoon beach walk with my daughter.  It's not a special photo per se, but it evokes the memory of us just spending time together as mother and daughter, and that's a special memory to hold on to.

YCW's Ornate Frame 11 YCW6011 is equally at home on a vintage layout or a project with a more modern feel. To pair it with the vibrant fresh colours in the Life is Beautiful collection by Aussie company Cocoa Vanilla Studio I've pulled the turquoise from the colour palette of the collection with two coats of Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Tumbled Glass. To add a little depth I've sanded the edges once the paint dried.

Those beautiful feathers have been treated with a heat embossed gold and really bring out that gold foil look.

The title has been daubed with pink and coral acrylic paint and then heat embossed with a clear coat for some shine.

Other Product Used:  Cocoa Vanilla Studio Life is Beautiful patterned paper, Bazzill cardstock, Crate Paper gold foil vellum, Cocoa Vanilla Studio Life is Beautiful sticker sheet, TCW stencil, Faber Castell Whipped Spackle, Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Tumbled Glass, gold embossing powder, typewriter, enamel dot, gold thread, Prima Color Bloom spray in Peony, Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Coral, acrylic paint, clear embossing powder.

I'm sad to say this will be my last post for YourCreative Wings.  I've had the most amazing time on the team team but due to a change in circumstances I need to step down.

The girls have some stunning layouts coming up, and the awesome new chippy designs just keep on coming (umm... have you SEEN the pieces in the brand New Boho themed pieces

Thanks for dropping by today!

Love You

Good Morning, Rikki here, how are you all?

Half way through the month and its always a mad dash with trying to balance life with blogging and design team commitments... but its always a good thing to get creative right?

''Love You''
Websters Nested pp & Stickers, Prima Flowers, Gold Doily
Your Creative Wings Frame and Key to My Heart Charm set

One little tip when painting your chipboard is look at spray painting it.... this chipboard literally took 2 mins to paint, I used a British Paints Gold spray paint got it at Bunnings and I use it all the time!!!! I love using spray paint because of time efficiency, and it also doesnt make the chipboard too wet when you need to pop it out of its negative.

Till next time have a creative day

Little One

Good Morning, Rikki here today to share with you a layout using the stunning Your Creative Wings Chipboard, I know I am on the design team but its seriously my pleasure to share this chipboard!!!

When starting this layout I wasnt to sure how it would turn out I think it was because of the purple, I am usually not one for purple but it seems to be becoming a feature on my scrapbook pages of late...... well never say never.

''Little one''

Websters pp, Twine, Tim Holtz Distress Stain Mists, Prima Art Basic's texture paste,
Gesso, Your Creative Wings Chipboard

Why I love this product is the attention to detail with the beautiful etching.....

I love blending the new designs with the old ones and you dont need a lot of pieces to make an impact on your layout. Its just about the key features like the YCW Little One word and the YCW Flower Bud Set  .

                                                            Words - Little One

So why dont you pop over to the Your Creative Wings store to see what is new, you will have trouble picking only one or two pieces, I promise you!!!

Till next time have a creative day.

Little Dreamer by Sue

Hi guys, it’s Sue with you today sharing a layout using a couple of the latest amazing designs from Your Creative Wings.
I squealed when I opened my pack this month.  The new chipboard pieces are absolutely gorgeous.  I love the whimsical feel the designs have.  The title ‘little dreamer’ would traditionally be used for baby layouts I am guessing, but I chose to use photos of my daughter feeding red pandas.  I know she dreams of working with animals one day so I thought the title worked well.

Your Creative Wings chipboard  used – Little Dreamer Arrow YCW1096, Floral Arrows Crossed YCW4023.

Other products – Papers: Graphic 45; Vellum doily: Crate Paper; Sequins: Cocoa Vanilla; Cardstock; Canvas paper; Vellum; Gold Colour Shine, Glitter; Beads.

As always, I painted the two chipboard pieces white using a can of spray paint.  Then I applied Frayed Burlap distress ink using a sponging block, over the top.  This produced a soft cream tone.  I gently peeled the edges of the chipboard pieces, to create a little texture.  I decided I wanted to add a little colour to the pieces so I dripped gold colour shine across the arrows.
Once dry, I then added a little glossy accents and sprinkled with a white glitter.  Did you notice that the Floral Arrow chipboard piece is dimensional?  The set comes with extra flowers so that you can layer them on top of the base design.  How amazing is that?  I have teamed the chipboard pieces with beautiful Gilded Lily papers from Graphic 45.  I cut out a few of the pretty little flowers to further embellish the chipboard pieces.
